Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@cardiokidz.org if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Kids CAN run up in distance for a greater challenge, but not down. See the Alternate 1/4-mile option if you are a beginner runner in 2nd-8th grade.

This race is perfect for kids new to running. Designed for 2nd-8th graders who might not quite be ready for their suggested distance. And that is perfectly OK! We will help them gain the strength and confidence they need to thrive.

Cardio Kidz believes everyone has potential within them, some just need a little help brining it out. The program is designed for kids of ALL ABILITIES. Never run before, just starting or seasoned; we have a race that will help you reach your full potential! The hardest part is crossing the start line; we will encourage you every step of the way.

While we will be racing against others to help us push ourselves, the true competition lies within each runner. We will be emphasizing personal goal setting and self- improvement above everything. We recognize everyone's accomplishments look different and celebrate them all.

No. The $35 is for ALL 3 races and finisher medal.

YES! You will receive $5 off each additional sibling with one full price registration. Sibling discount is not available for single day registration.

Yes!  A single race is $15, cash or zelle only. Onsite registration is only available for a single race.

NOTE: The $5 sibling discount is not offered for a single race and the Cardio Kidz branded giveaway is not included but can be purchased for an additional donation.

Guided races, racing bibs, Cardio Kidz branded swag, weekly goal tracker sheet, progress report and a finisher medal.

No problem. All runners, no matter how many races they were able to attend, will receive a finisher medal. If you cannot make the final race when medals are distributed, we will have a pickup location.

Prior to the start of the first race, you will be provided with a Goal Tracker Sheet. We encourage parents to complete this with their child to help them set a personal and realistic weekly goal. As an accountability aid, we offer an incentive to each runner who comes to the race and shows us their completed goal sheet for the week.

  • Pre-K 2 & 3:  At this age they are just figuring things out; it is a learning experience, and the goal is for it to be a positive one! There will be a heart next to every child who ran Sunday.

  • Pre-K 4 & 5: The number next to their name is the place in which we have record of them crossing the finish line and getting their bib torn off.

  • 1/4, 1/2 & 1 Mile: Their times have been recorded and separated by grade.

Each series, starting at Kindergarten, we will focus on word of AFFIRMATION in age-appropriate discussions at the start lines.  The medals will complement the discussions.
